PKU-ASC welcomes new BHP Billiton Chair of Australian Studies
Professor Gregory McCarthy took up his appointment as the second PKU-BHP Billiton Chair Professor of Australian Studies, in Feburary 2016. Read Professor McCarthy’s biography here.
About the Centre
The Peking University Australian Studies Centre is an academic institute for the study of Australian history, politics, international relations, economics, society, culture and literature. The objective of the Centre is to strengthen the Australia-China relationship through advancing Australian Studies at Peking University and throughout China. To this end, the Centre hosts the BHP Billiton Chair of Australian Studies, administers Australian Studies courses at PKU, organises conferences and roundtables, and operates an Internship Program.
15th International Conference of Australian Studies in China
In July 2016 PKU Australian Studies Centre will host Australia in the World: Past, Present and Future, the 15th International Conference of Australian Studies in China. The call for papers is now open until 15 May 2016.

The 4th International Conference of the Foundation for Australian Studies in China
